More than 56 per cent displaced Kashmiri Pandits today exercised their right of franchise at the specially set polling booths across the region in the third phase of the Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Miles away from their homes in Kashmir, around 56.42 per cent displaced Pandits cast their votes, an official of the Election Commission here said.
The EC had received application from 8166 KP voters to caste their votes in the polling booths set up for them.
"Out of the total 8166 voters who were registered to vote for the third phase at the migrant polling stations, a total of 4607 came to caste their vote today," the official said.
