In wake of the terror attack on a school in Pakistan's Peshawar, Chandigarh Police today carried out checking at vital installations in the city.
In view of the terrorist attack in Pakistan and Christmas and New year celebrations, a special search/checking was carried out at and around the vital installations including railway stations, ISBT's Sector-17 & 43, All India Radio, Punjab and Haryana High Court, Doordarshan Kendra, airport and other installations, a Chandigarh Police spokesman said.
Anti-sabotage checking teams, sniffer dogs and Quick Reaction Teams of the Operations Cell were also involved in the drill.
Various markets and shopping malls and their parking lots were also thoroughly checked, he said.
Such a checking drive will continue in future also, the spokesman added.
