Pirated CDS seized; one held

Hundreds of pirated CDS of new Tamil films like the Vijay-starrer 'Theri' have been seized from a godown here and one person arrested in this connection, police said today.

Police raided the godown based on a complaint from Southern Film Artistes Association that CDS of new films were being sold from a shop in the district.

The shop was located in the godown, police said, adding, the shopowner, Ramchand Lathi, had several cases pending against him.

Police found 11 machines used for making the CDS and over 20,000 CDS in the godown. The value of the seized CDS is estimated to be Rs 26 lakh, police said.
 

Police registered a case under theCopyrights Act and arrested Mathiyarasu and are searching for Ramchand and another person.
