Police today destroyed five illegal mini-gun factories in Rishikund jungle in Bihar's Munger district and seized four automatic pistols and equipment used for manufacturing illegal guns.
According to police the illegal mini-gun factories were being operated under Maoist protection.
The police arrested a person called Shrimant Kumar but five of his associates managed to escape from the spot during the raid, which was carried out by a police team led by ASP (Operations) Rana Navin, Superintendent of Police of Munger Ashish Bharti said.

The arrested person and his associates were in constant touch with Maoists, he said.
Due to constant police pressure, illegal arms manufacturers had taken shelter in the jungle to manufacture arms with patronage and under protection of Maoists, the SP said.
