We also want the PM to ensure that Hindus are not forced to flee that country, the party said
)
RSS today said it would request Prime Minister Narendra Modi to raise the issue of safety of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh with the government of that country during his trip there beginning on June 6.
A memorandum containing the demand would be submitted to the Prime Minister by the West Bengal unit of the RSS, Jishnu Basu, a senior functionary of the organisation said.
"We not only want the Prime Minister to raise the issue of safety and security of Hindu minorities with the Bangladesh government, but also ensure that Hindus are not forced to flee that country," Basu said.
He said the RSS would also request him to see that Indians living in Bangladesh enclaves remained safe and secure.
A senior RSS functionary, who did not wish to be named, said that Modi should take up the issue of infiltration with the Bangladesh government.
Enhancing rail, road and water connectivity, boosting economic engagement and expanding security cooperation are likely to be the major focus areas during Modi's two-day visit to Bangladesh.
