A road linking Najafgarh and Kakrola in south-west Delhi was today named after Delhi Fire Service fireman Hari Om Gehlot who was killed, along with his colleague, while on duty.
Mayor of South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) Shyam Sharma named the road, linking Najafgarh to Kakrola where the fireman lived with his family, as Shahid Hari Om Gehlot Road.
He said it will inspire those who fight for the interests of the people.

48-year-old Sharma is survived by his wife and two children.
The Mayor had yesterday visited his family.
The road has been named after Hari Om Gehlot on the demand of the local residents and councillor. It will be a suitable tribute to the martyr and give a new identity to the area, Sharma added.
