The State Election Commission has asked the Returning Officer of Murshidabad district to file a police complaint against Minister of State for Railways Adhir Chowdhury for his speech on October 27 last.
"We have gone through the CD of Adhir Chowdhury's speech and have asked the Returning Officer to file a police complaint against Chowdhury," SEC Mira Pandey told PTI.
In his speech, Chowdhury had reportedly threatened to teach the ruling Trinamool Congress and the police as well as the administration a lesson if any attempt was made by the government to capture Baharampore Municipality by force.
Elections to the Baharampore Municipality are scheduled for November 22.
