Select copra prices gain on solid demand

Copra office Alapuzha, copra office Kozhikode and copra Rajapur prices advanced at the spices market here today owing to good offtake by stockists.

Elsewhere, black pepper regained due to fresh demand from stockists.

Rest all other spices ruled steady in the absence of necessary buying activity.

Copra Rajapur Mumbai climbed by Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 16,700 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 16,500.

Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode moved up by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 7,500 and Rs 7,400 as against to Rs 7,400 and Rs 7,300, respectively.

Black pepper rose Rs 6/5 per kg to Rs 740/805 compared with Rs 734/800 yesterday.

Black pepper (per kg) 740/805 (734/800), ginger bleached (per kg) 215 (215), ginger unbleached (per kg) 235 (235), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 7,500 (7,400), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 7,400 (7,300), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 16,700 (16,500), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 9,000 (9,000).
