Seven persons were today sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court here for the murder of a man two years ago.
Additional District Sessions Judge Rajbir Singh has held the seven guilty under section 302 of the IPC (murder) for murdering one Shabbir in 2012.
According to the prosecution, a fine of Rs 5,000 was also imposed on each of them, identified as Zamir, Nasir, Rahis, Shaid, Hasan, Islam, and Chotey.
The judge has also directed the convicted persons to pay Rs 20,000 to the family of the victim.
Shabbir was beaten to death by the seven over an old enmity near Saharanpur bus stand on August 21, 2012.
