Shooting at a Florida nightclub, 'multiple injuries': police

A shooting erupted at a nightclub in downtown Orlando, Florida early today, leaving "multiple injuries," police said.

"There are injuries. I am not sure if there are any deceased at this time," a police dispatcher told AFP, describing it as an "active shooting."

"Officers are going in to search the building and to get people out," the dispatcher said.

The shooting occurred at the Pulse nightclub, police confirmed.

"Multiple injuries. Stay away from the area," the police department posted on their official Twitter account.
