Smack worth Rs 21 lakh seized from shop

Acting on a tip-off, police raided the shop and found the drug kept in a small box.

A woman -- identified as Ishrat Jamal -- was held in this regard, police said, adding that she was a habitual offender and had been arrested for possessing the same contraband worth Rs 10 lakh in 2009.

Her husband Sohail is also under arrest for possessing smack, they said.

A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered and further probe is on, they said.
