Small sugar weakens on poor demand

Small sugar prices weakened further at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to poor demand from millers and bulk consumers.

While, medium sugar ended mixed on alternate bouts of buying and selling.

Small sugar (S-30) declined by Rs 12/6 per quintal to Rs 2,220/2,425 from Tuesday's level of Rs 2,232/2,431.

Medium sugar (M-30) was quoted at Rs 2,320/2,622.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,220/2,425 (Rs 2,232/2,431).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,320/2,622 (Rs 2,332/2,530).
