Alleging inaction on the part of the ruling Samajwadi party government in the state and BJP at the Centre regarding payment of cane dues to farmers, former Union Minister and RLD chief Ajit Singh has said that intentions of both the governments are not clear regarding this.

"Even if a single sugar mill owner had been sent to jail, other mill owners would not only have made the payment of cane dues, but they would have also bought the cane at a higher price", he said.

Ajit, while talking to reporters here, said it is unfair to farmers that the state advisory prices had not been hiked.

The Rashtriya Lok Dal chief further attacked the Centre saying that the BJP came to power on the promise of brining back black money stashed abroad and "acche din", but they have now changed their tone on these issues.

"As far as good days are concerned, they might have come for the BJP leaders, but the common people are still waiting for it," he further added.
