Strong 6.7-magnitude earthquake hits southern Taiwan: USGS

A strong 6.7-magnitude earthquake struck southern Taiwan, the US Geological Survey said.
The shallow quake struck around 2000 GMT Friday, 25 kilometres south of Yujing, USGS said.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said a destructive pacific-wide tsunami was not expected.
