Sugar firms up on steady demand

Both variety of sugar prices maintained the uptrend at Vashi wholesale market here today on steady demand from stockists and bulk consumers on the back of higher seasonal buying.

Small sugar (S-30) gained by Rs 5 to Rs 2,932/3,035 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 2,932/3,030.

Medium sugar (M-30) went up by Rs 4/10 to Rs 3,016/ 3,152 as against Rs 3,012/3,142 yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,932/3,035 (Rs 2,932/3,030).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,016/3,152 (Rs 3,012/3,142).
