Spiritual guru Swami Satyamitranand Giri was today conferred with a honorary doctorate by Uttarakhand Sanskrit University in Haridwar.
Governor Krishna Kant Paul, who is the Chancellor of the university, felicitated Giri at Raj Bhawan here.
In his address, Paul praised the 84-year-old spiritual guru for being an "effective exponent" of Indian culture and traditions, acording to a release by Raj Bhawan.
