T'gana: CM to visit Palamuru-Ranga Reddy project on Thursday

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao would visit the Palamuru-Ranga Reddy lift irrigation project on Thursday to take stock of ongoing works.

Rao would observe the works at Karvena, Vattem and Narlapur, and return to the city by evening, a release from the CMs office said on Wednesday.

"Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will visit Palamuru Rangareddy lift irrigation project to have an overview of the ongoing works on Thursday at 9:00 a.m," it said.

Rao on Friday last had asked officials to expeditiously complete thePalamuru-Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation scheme.

Recalling that the works of Kaleswaram irrigation project, which was inaugurated in June this year, were carried out on a fast track basis, Rao said thePalamuru-Ranga Reddy project should also be completed similarly, it said.

 

ThePalamuru-Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Scheme envisages creating irrigation potential in upland areas of Nagarkurnool, Mahabubnagar and other districts for an ayacut (area under irrigation) of about 10 lakh acres, among other benefits.
