Ambassador of Taiwan to India, Chung Kwang Tien, today said his country favoured more intense cultural and trade ties with India.
On a visit to the city, he praised Punjab's culture saying growing ties between the two societies would go a long way in fostering long-lasting relations between Taiwan and India.
Tien visited the Golden Temple, the Jallianwala Bagh and the Khalsa College here.

He witnessed Bhangra (traditional Punjab folk dance) at the Khalsa College performed by the students.
He met Khalsa College Principal Dr Daljit Singh and showed keen interest in educational tour programmes between India and Taiwan.
The envoy said he had heard several agriculture success stories from Punjab and wanted his country to learn from hard-working farmers of the state.
