A 14-year-old girl committed suicide by allegedly hanging herself from the ceiling of her room in Ganeshpal area under Kunhadi police station here.
The deceased, a Class VII student, was alone at her home last evening when she purportedly hanged herself with a scarf from the ceiling of the room, Assistant Sub-Inspector Shaukat Ali said.
When her mother Motibai arrived home, she found the girl hanging from the ceiling. The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital where she was declared brought dead, he said, adding no suicide note was recovered.
A case has been registered in this matter and police are trying to ascertain the reason behind the extreme step taken by the girl, Ali added.
