Day temperature increased across Rajasthan today with the state's hottest place Kota recording a maximum of 42 degree Celsius, followed by Barmer 41.8 degree Celsius.
Among the state's other places, Chittorgarh, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ajmer, Dabok and Jaisalmer recorded maximum of 41.5, 41, 40, 39.5, 39.4 and 39.3 degree Celsius respectively, whereas the day temperature in other areas hovered around 36 and 37 degree Celsius, according to the MeT department.
Mercury will further soar in the state during the next 24 hours, according to a MeT department forecast.
