Three alleged poachers were arrested and tiger nails seized from their possession today from Nasik in Maharashtra by Goa Forest Department officials.
Ahmed Patil Jamkar, Kalu Ranganath Uike and Suraj Raju Jamkar was arrested this morning at South Goa Planning and Development Authority grounds in Margao, after they arrived there to sell tigers' nails to a customer, the officials said.
Each nail was being sold for Rs 10,000, they said, adding that Rs 68,000 was recovered from them.
Officials said that seized tigers' nails would be sent to the Wildlife Institute of India at Dehradun for forensic analysis.
