In the fourth case of man-animal conflict in the district this year, a woman was killed by a tiger near Pombhurna town this morning.
Officials of the Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra said the incident took place in Jharan Range, when the victim Sunita Chitarlewar (30) from Pombhurna went into the nearby forest for collecting firewood with other women.
Range Forest Officer Praful Nikode found her body in a bush after the other women informed his team about the attack.

He said the women had ventured into the tiger territory despite having been warned by the department in this regard.
In December, another woman had been killed by the tiger in this area, he noted.
Forest Department announced aid of Rs 25,000 for Chitarlewar's family. Remaining Rs 4.75 lakh would be paid after the completion of formalities.
Since the beginning of this year, two persons had been killed in tiger attack while one person was killed in the attack by a sloth bear.
