Two die as portion of stadium roof collapses
Two people died and 35 were injured when a portion of a stadium roof collapsed when they were watching a zonal level sports meet at Sirakuppa in the district on Friday, police said.
The incident occurred at Sirakuppa Taluk Stadium, they said.
Some of the injured have been admitted to hospital.
Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa expressed grief over the deaths and directed authorities to investigate.
