The clash broke out between rival groups of the JD(U) workers at the Adhikar Sammelan and the members attacked each other with chairs in which two ruling party workers sustained minor injuries, the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Dharmesh Kumar said.
The injured persons were taken to a hospital where they were given first-aid by the doctors, he said.
The clash broke out among the JD(U) workers after the leaders of both groups demanding to be seated to the chair put up on the dias for the adhikar sammelan, Kumar said.
Senior JD(U) leaders like the Food and Consumer Protection Minister Shyam Rajak, MP Meena Singh and MLA Sunil Pandey intervened and separated the warring groups of JD(U) workers.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was supposed to address the JD(U)'s district adhikar sammelan on the special status issue, but he deferred his visit for monitoring the law and order situation in Madhubani district.
