Two workers killed in accident at Vizag steel plant

The mishap took place at the third blast furnace of the steel plant, a public sector unit, while inserting a steel rod to remove the slag through a hole, they said.

Fire tenders were immediately pressed into service and and the blaze was extinguished, the sources said.

The deceased were engaged by a private company.

Wfforts are being made to restore normalcy at the blast furnace, the company said in a release. PTI COR RSY RT
