Undertrial commits suicide in Faridkot jail

A 30-year-old undertrial allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself inside a jail here, police said today.

The deceased identified as Bikram Singh was booked under the NDPS Act and was later admitted to the drug de-addiction hospital in the jail 23 days ago, police said.

Last night, the accused hanged himself from the grill of a bathroom using a piece of cloth.

The jail authorities are probing the matter, they added.
