Undertrial prisoner dies in Tihar jail hospital

A 37-year-old undertrial prisoner, who was HIV positive, and lodged in Tihar jail, died in the prison hospital.

Rajnish was lodged in the jail this year after he was arrested in a case of cheating.

"He was admitted in the casualty of Central Jail number three hospital. He was found dead yesterday morning at the time of lock out," a jail official said, adding that his body was sent for post mortem and an inquiry is being conducted in this connection.

Rajnish's family has been informed about the incident, he added.
