Urad, masoor climb on pick up in demand, tight supply

Prices of urad and masoor rose up to Rs 300 per quintal at the wholesale market today following pick up in demand against tight supplies from producing belts.

Traders said besides pick up in demand, tight supplies due to decline in arrivals from producing belts mainly led to the rise in select pulses prices.

In the national capital, urad climbed to Rs 7,500-8,000 from previous level of Rs 7,250-7,700 per quintal. Its dal chilka local moved up by Rs 150 to Rs 8,400-8,600 per quintal.

Urad dal best quality and dhoya were up by Rs 200 each to Rs 8,600-9,200 and Rs 9,000-9,500 per quintal.
 

Masoor small and bold also seen in demand and gained Rs 150 each to Rs 6,300-6,500 and Rs 6,300-6,600 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 7,400-7,500 and Rs 7,500-7,600 per quintal.

Malka local and best quality too traded higher by Rs 100 each to Rs 7,600-7,800 and Rs 7,800-7,900 per quintal respectively.

Urad Rs 7,500-8,000, Urad Chilka (local), Rs 8,400-8,600, urad best Rs 8,600-9,200, Dhoya Rs 9,000-9,500, Moong Rs 7,400-8,100, Dal Moong Chilka local Rs 8,200-8,700, Moong Dhoya local Rs 8,200-8,500 and best quality Rs 9,000-9,100.

Masoor small Rs 6,300-6,500, bold Rs 6,300-6,600, Dal Masoor local Rs 7,400-7,500, best quality Rs 7,500-7,600, Malka local Rs 7,600-7,800, best Rs 7,800-7,900, Moth Rs 5,900-6,200, Arhar Rs 6,800-6,850, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 8,150-8,450.

Gram Rs 4,200-5,000, Gramdal (local) Rs 4,600-4,800, best quality Rs 4,700-5,000, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 1,900,Rajdhani Rs 1,900, Rajma Chitra Rs 4,500-5,800, Kabuli Gram small Rs 4,350-6,650, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 4,800-5,200, Peas white Rs 2,800-2,825 and green Rs 2,800-2,900.
