A vacation division bench comprising Justice Devi Prasad Singh and Justice Satish Chandra passed the order on a writ petition filed by a person, Rajkumar, challenging a government order of May 23 by which Verma was directed to function as the chairman of the board.
The petitioner alleged that corruption and irregularities were prevailing in the board, in which an inquiry was ordered by the government on April 18, but without waiting for the report Verma was directed to function as chairman.
The petitioner sought a direction for CBI probe in alleged corruption and irregularities in the board.
The court provided that the government may conduct an inquiry by EOW or any other competent agency.
