Woman sarpanch's husband held on graft charge

Anti-corruption vigilance sleuths today arrested the husband of a lady sarpanch on charge of demanding and accepting bribe from a person to allot a house under Indira Awaw Yojana (IAY), official sources said.

Budhalal Bhoi, husband of Tapi Bhoi, Sarpanch, Kandapala Gram Panchayat under Ambhabhona Block of Bargarh district, has been arrested while accepting bribe of Rs 5,000 from Phagulal Dila of village Machhamalada under Ambhabhona police station area in Bargarh.

The bribe was being given to enter the name of Dila's wife in the Pallisabha Resolution and pursue his senior Officers for allotment of a house in favour of her under IAY Scheme.
 

Sambalpur Vigilance Police Station registred a case against name of Bhoi under section 7 of prevention of corruption act, 1988. A trap was laid to nab Bhoi. The bribe money of Rs.5,000 paid by Dila has been seized.
