Activists of 'Mahila Jagriti Manch', a social organization spearheading movement for the empowerment of women here, today banged utensils during a demonstration in front of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Singhbhum district.

Demanding that benefits of the government schemes reach to the poor and needy, hundreds of women assembled in Sakchi and proceeded towards the office of the Deputy Commissioner, where they demonstrated in support of their demands.

Beating utensils, the women demanded that the chief minister of the state should step down if he was unable to ensure that the benefits of the government schemes such as ration card, red card, old age pension, widow pension, Indira Awas Yojna etc must reach to the bonafide beneficiaries.
