A youth was arrested here for allegedly blackmailing a minor girl by circulating her obscene pictures in public and pressuring to develop an illicit affair with him, police said.
Sandip wanted to be in an illicit relationship with the school girl of village Mangali under Baldeo police station, police said.
The accused, who belongs to the same village, took the girl's snap while she was on her way to Board exam on March 19.
Using photo editing software, he made her images obscene and dropped a few copies at her residence, with some being circulated among her friends, they said.
Based on a FIR filed by the victim's father, he started building pressure on the girl for developing illicit relations with him.
The youth was arrested on Sunday and sent to jail, police said.
