Laloos Brother, Nephew Arrested

Bihar police yesterday arrested Mahavir Prasad, elder brother of former Bihar Chief Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav, and Nagendra Prasad Yadav, nephew of the rjd chief, for allegedly manhandling the sub-divisional officer (sdo) of Patna Sadar, official sources said. Mahavir Prasad and Nagendra Prasad Yadav allegedly assaulted sdo Madan Mohan Prasad on Wednesday when the officer sought time to issue obc certificates for two persons, the sources said. The Bihar administrative service association (basa) was demanding the arrest of the duo. (PTI) embers of basas Patna unit, who had gone on an indefinite strike following the alleged incident, called off their agitation after the arrest. The arrest followed a meeting between Laloo Prasad and basa representatives, the sources said.
