Snapshot of alternative assets in India

With $43 billion assets under management (AUM), the alternative assets industry is only a sixth of the industry in China. 

Private equity and venture capital forms the largest pool. With $24 billion in unrealised gains and dry powder, it has more AUM than all other asset classes combined — ($19 billion). 

Starting this week, we bring you key insights from a recent report by data firm Preqin on alternative assets in India.
