Flipkart Ventures, the investment arm of the e-commerce giant, has selected five “innovative startups” in artificial intelligence (AI) for the third edition of its accelerator programme, it said on Thursday.
Xportel is an e-commerce logistics enabler that facilitates international deliveries in more than 150 countries. Factors.ai offers account-based marketing for “leveraging cross-channel intent signals”. Expertia.ai is a recruiting platform that identifies and hires talent for companies globally. Bharat Krushi Seva is an agriculture technology startup building value chains for the fruits trade, offering advisory services and output linkages. Visa2Fly is a travel technology platform for visa applications, offering “end-to-end support” for documentation, processing and travel assistance.
The early-stage startups will receive equity investments of up to $500,000 and a mentorship programme designed by a global consulting firm. Participants will gain strategic mentorship and industry expertise from Flipkart leaders in business, product, technology and finance.
The programme called Flipkart Leap Ahead (FLA) helps early-stage startups and the third edition introduces startups “driving advancements in AI and tech based enablement”.
“Through Flipkart Leap Ahead, we continue to act as a driving force in India’s startup ecosystem, fostering a culture of innovation and providing early-stage companies with the capital, mentorship, and strategic network they need to succeed,” said Lubna Ahmed, vice-president and head of Flipkart Ventures, in a statement.
FLA culminates in a demo day, offering startups a platform to present their progress and secure investment opportunities.
Flipkart Ventures has backed more than 20 startups in deep tech, fintech, health tech, generative AI and sustainability. It recently signed an agreement with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade to support startups across India with investments and advice.
