Oman Refineries awards Engineers India contract for plastics project
The $40 milllion contract is from Oman Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (Orpic) for its Liwa Plastics Project in Sohar, Oman

Orpic is owned by the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and Oman Oil Company SAOC, the commercial company wholly owned by the Government of the Sultanate of Oman created to pursue investment opportunities in the energy sector both inside and outside Oman.
Liwa Plastics Project comprises of a new petrochemical complex adjacent to the Sohar Refinery that will include a 800 thousand tonne per year (KTA) ethylene cracking plant, high density polyolefin (HDPE) plant, linear low density polyethylene plant (LLDPE), new polypropylene plant (PP), MTBE plant, butene-1 plant, associated utility and offsite facilities. The feedstock for the plant will be brought from Fahud which is 300 km away from Sohar. PMC's scope also includes NGL extraction plant at Fahud as well as NGL transfer P/L from Fahud to Sohar.
