Heritage Foods appoints Suzlon as contractor for wind power plant in AP

Dairy products maker Heritage Foods Ltd, owned by family members of Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, will set up 2.1 MW wind power plant in Andhra Pradesh. The company has appointed Suzloon Energy as turnkey contractor for the wind energy project.
 
“The Board has approved the establishment/setting up 2.1 MW wind power project in Andhra Pradesh for captive consumption. The Board has appointed Suzlon Energy Limited as turnkey contractor for setting up of the wind power plant,” said Heritage Foods in a BSE filing on December 17, 2015.
 
In addition to dairy, retail, agri and bakery business segments, it also has renewable energy unit, which had recorded a turnover of Rs 25.70 million in FY2015. In September 2013, Heritage Foods Ltd, in association with Mahindra EPC Services Private Limited, had commissioned a 2.34 MWP solar power project in Medak district near Hyderabad, under REC mechanism and to meet its captive energy requirement.
