Garware Synthetics to expand plastic engineering business

Garware Synthetics - a manufacturer of nylon monofilaments, bristles, fishing line and PP bristles – is planning to expand its plastic engineering business activity for manufacturing plastic component for automotive industry. “The Board has approved the expansion of plastic engineering business. The company will be the first one in India to introduce plastic engineering business for manufacturing of plastic auto components having equal strength of metal components,” said Garware Synthetics in a BSE filing.
 
Automotive manufacturers are increasingly looking at replacing metal component with lighter, plastic part to increase energy efficiency of the vehicle. Growing automotive market, coupled with a strong trend to reduce vehicle weight, is expected to drive the demand of automotive plastic in the near future.
