Supreme Petrochem resumes operations at Chennai plant
The plant, which manufactures expanded polystyrene (EPS), was closed since December last year due to heavy rains and flooding in the city

Supreme Petrochem Ltd, a producer and exporter of polystyrene polymer, has resumed operations at its Chennai plant, which was shut down since December 3 due the heavy rains & floods. “The company has commissioned the main plant. The plant is expected to attain full capacity with commissioning of all connected systems by January 16, 2016,” said Supreme Petrochem in a BSE filing on January 11, 2016.
The company manufactures expanded polystyrene (EPS), a rigid cellular plastic that is mainly used for packaging (such as electrical consumer goods) and for construction (in insulation panels for building), at Chennai plant.
