Former Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma achieved a remarkable feat for his IPL franchise as he completed 600 boundaries in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.
The Hitman has been lethal for MI in the power play as well, giving his side explosive starts over the years. He started the match 6628 runs in the domestic league over the years and isn't stopping anytime soon.
Rohit however, had to walk back quite early into the innings as Siraj did get his stumps with a peach of a delivery after conceding those two boundaries in the first over.
Rohit failing to perform in first 2 MI games:
With the Indian skipper not able to produce the goods for the Mumbai Indians in the first two games while opening the innings, the focus is now being shifted to the MI top order not able to provide the foundation fora good knock.
Rohit was out on a duck in the opener against CSK and was then cleaned up by Siraj in the next game in the first over itself after scoring 2 boundaries.
Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag also questioned his form and asked "What Manoj Tiwary said about Rohit Sharma, where is that season? Isn't it too late for this type of season to come (laughs)? We are also his fans, but we are just asking where the season of 600-700 runs is. When has Rohit Sharma done that? It has been 18 years, when it has not happened in 18 years, how can you hope for this to happen now when he is at the last part of his career?"
