IND vs SA 2nd Test Guwahati
South Africa sealed a historic Test series victory in India, their first in 25 years, as Temba Bavuma joined Hansie Cronje in an elite club of visiting captains to win a Test series on Indian soil. A big 408-run win in the 2nd Test today in Guwahati was the icing on the cake for The Proteas who dominated the Test match on almost all days. From the outset, the Proteas never allowing India a way back once Senuran Muthusamy and Marco Jansen’s pivotal partnership on Day 2 had shifted momentum irreversibly in their favour.
Day 5 in Guwahati only reinforced South Africa’s control. India resumed with hopes of grinding out time, but their middle order faltered under relentless pressure. The morning session belonged entirely to South Africa’s spinners, Simon Harmer and Keshav Maharaj, who dismantled India’s resistance with discipline and skill. Harmer was exceptional, extracting sharp turn, variable bounce, and using his arm-ball effectively to claim four wickets, including the crucial dismissals of Kuldeep Yadav, Rishabh Pant, and Sai Sudharsan. Maharaj backed him perfectly, maintaining tight channels and consistently threatening the edges and pads of India’s batters.
Despite the collapse around him, Sai Sudharsan showed grit, battling through a painful blow to the glove and surviving multiple close calls. Ravindra Jadeja attempted to rebuild with measured strokeplay, rotating strike, sweeping against the turn, and looking for scoring opportunities—but runs were scarce against South Africa’s unwavering accuracy. Pant injected brief excitement with a boundary and a six, but his aggressive cameo ended at 13, deepening India’s troubles.
Jansen’s disciplined pace from one end, combined with Aiden Markram’s sharp fielding—despite a missed chance, kept India under constant scrutiny. With a lead exceeding 500, South Africa remained in complete command, methodically tightening their grip on the contest.
Ultimately, India’s lower order could not withstand the sustained pressure, and South Africa marched to a comprehensive, series-clinching victory—one built on discipline, patience, and a dominant all-round performance across five days.

India vs South Africa 2nd Test LIVE UPDATES Day 5: Stand in skipper Rishabh Pant after the loss!
Pant: It's little disappointing. As a team we need to get better. We need to give credit to the opposition. We need to take the learning and stick as a team. They dominated the series but at the same time, you can't take credit for granted. We needed to be clear with our mindset. In the future, we need to learn from it and get better. They played better cricket, cricket demands that you need to capitalise as a team. And we did not do that and that cost us the whole series. The positive will be focussing in our own plan and that's what we will take from this series.
