Three killed in Russian attack on Ukraine's Kherson
Russian attacks on Ukraine's southern region of Kherson on Monday killed three civilians and injured 15, including a two-month-old child, officials said. Two were killed -- a 62-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man -- in a "massive" Russian attack of rocket and artillery fire on the city centre in the early afternoon, Kherson's governor Oleksandr Prokudin said in a statement. Earlier in the day a Russian artillery strike hit a car in the city's suburbs, killing a man and injuring a two-month-old girl when the vehicle caught fire, Roman Mrochko, head of the Kherson city military administration said.

"The sale of liquor picks up during festivals like Holi and Diwali in Delhi as it is not only bought for personal consumption and stocking but also for giving as gifts," a senior excise department official said. Delhi records maximum temperature of 27.3 degrees Celsius
The maximum temperature in Delhi on Monday settled at 27.3 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). It was a cold morning in the city with the minimum temperature settling at 11.8 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average. Humidity levels oscillated between 45 per cent and 100 per cent, the IMD said.
The weather office has forecast partly cloudy skies in Delhi on Tuesday with shallow to moderate fog in the morning.

Delhi Pollution: Over 40 cases registered for violation of firecracker ban
More than 40 cases have been registered in East and Northeast police districts for alleged violation of the Supreme Court's ban on bursting firecrackers in Delhi on Diwali, officials said on Monday. The Supreme Court banned bursting of conventional firecrackers to curb air and sound pollution in 2018. Last week, the top court said its order banning firecrackers containing barium binds every state and is not just limited to Delhi-NCR, which is reeling under severe air pollution.

China, Pakistan navies to conduct first joint maritime patrols in Arabian Sea
The navies of China and Pakistan have kicked off their largest naval exercises in the Arabian Sea which included their "first joint maritime patrol", the Chinese official media reported on Monday. The China-Pakistan Sea Guardians-3 joint maritime exercise, with the theme of "Joint Response to Maritime Security Threats", kicked off at a naval base in Karachi, Pakistan, on November 11 in the waters and airspace of the northern Arabian Sea. China and Pakistan will conduct their first joint maritime patrol, the China Military Online, the official news portal of the Chinese military, reported.

Heavy rainfall alert for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal on Nov 13-14
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued an Orange alert, indicating the possibility of isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall in the coastal regions of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal on November 13th and 14th. The coastal regions of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal are expected to experience rainfall between 115.6 to 204.4 mm. "Orange Alert! The coastal regions of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal are expected to experience isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall (115.6 to 204.4 mm) on November 13th and 14th. Stay safe, stay informed!" IMD said in a post on X. The Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai, has issued a forecast for November 13 and 14 for the Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal areas.

Uttarakhand tunnel collapse: CM Dhami visits site, expresses hope for safe rescue of trapped workers
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday visited the Silkyara-Barkot tunnel site for a review of the rescue operations being carried out there to evacuate 40 labourers trapped inside since Sunday morning following its partial collapse. Dhami inspected the site here along with officials and discussed the strategy being followed for the safe rescue of the trapped workers. He asked the officials and multiple agencies engaged in the rescue operations inside the under construction tunnel to work with coordination and inform the administration immediately of their requirements in terms of resources. All resources and technical help will be provided to them as soon as possible, Dhami said.
