The Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday imposed a ban on halal-certified food products in the entire state. Food Commissioner's Office issued an order that states "In the interest of public health, production, storing, distribution and sale of halal certified edible items banned in Uttar Pradesh with immediate effect."

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be releasing the BJP's manifesto for Telangana assembly polls on November 18, party sources said on Friday. Shah will also address poll rallies in Gadwal, Nalgonda and Warangal, they said. "Amit Shah will release the manifesto at 10 AM before leaving for the rallies," they said. The BJP is expected to step up its campaign for the November 30 polls with several union ministers participating in the rallies in the coming days.

Delhi schools to resume classes from Nov 20 after GRAP IV curbs lifted

All government-aided and private schools in the national capital shall resume classes in offline mode from November 20 as GRAP IV has been revoked, an official circular said on Saturday. The decision has been taken in view of the improving AQI and forecast by the IMD/IITM that there is no indication of any sharp degradation in Delhi's AQI in the near future, a circular by the Directorate of Education said.

Assembly elections: Chhattisgarh records 76.31% voter turnout

A voter turnout of 76.31 per cent was recorded in Chhattisgarh assembly elections for 90 seats held in two phases on November 7 and 17, poll officials said on Saturday.
