Shah was addressing a gathering after leading a road show at Behala, where people will vote in the second and final phase on April 29
"The BJP has already won 110 seats in the first phase of polls held on April 23," he said
Polling was held in 152 of the 294 assembly constituencies on April 23 and recorded a turnout of nearly 93 per cent. The second phase of polling for the remaining 142 seats will be held on April 29
Shah said the BJP will secure an absolute majority in the assembly elections, and bag more than 110 of the 152 seats that went to the polls in the first phase on Thursday
Shah also promised an 'infiltrator-free Bengal' once the BJP is voted to power in the state
He said no party other than the BJP could find a solution acceptable to the Gorkhas
The bill, which failed the LS test, sought to increase the number of seats to a maximum of 850 from the current 543 to implement a 33 per cent women's quota in legislative bodies before the 2029 polls
