Devotees light up earthen lamps on 'Karthigai Deepam' in Puducherry

Puducherry, Dec 11 (ANI): Several devotees lit up earthen lamps (diyas) on the occasion of 'Karthigai Deepam' in Puducherry on December 10. Devotees celebrated the festival with full fervour and joy in Sivasubramanian Temple of Puducherry. Devotees thronged in large numbers to witness the lighting of 'Karthigai Deepam'. The festival is dedicated to worship Lord Murugan. The day coincides with Purnima or the full moon night in the Tamil month of Karthigai.
