New Delhi, Nov 01 (ANI): Several diplomats attended the South Asian Regional Connectivity Conference in New Delhi on Thursday. Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale, while addressing the dignitaries said that India believes in a free, open And inclusive Indo-Pacific region. "As PM outlined in his speech in this year's Shangri-La Dialogue, we believe in a free, open And inclusive Indo-Pacific region which includes all nations in this geography and others who have a stake in it", said Foreign Secretary Gokhale at the conference.

Security was beefed up outside the Bangladesh High Commission here on Tuesday ahead of a protest by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal over attacks on Hindus in the neighbouring country.
The area has been secured with three layers of barricading and more force from the police and paramilitary.
"We have stepped up security in view of the protest. Barricades have been put in place and forces deployed to prevent any untoward incident," a police officer said.
The VHP and Bajrang Dal have announced a demonstration at the high commission building to denounce alleged atrocities against Hindus and vandalism of their religious places in Bangladesh.
Several protesters were seen holding banners and placards, raising slogans at the embassy.

The Kerala State Animal Husbandry Department has initiated precautionary measures after avian flu was confirmed among poultry in some areas of Alappuzha and Kottayam districts, officials said on Tuesday.
In Alappuzha, an outbreak has been reported at Nedumudi, Cheruthana, Karuvatta Karthikapally, Ambalapuzha South, Punnapra South, Thakazhi, and Purakkad.
In Kottayam, the spread of avian flu is reported at Kurupanthara, Kallupuraykkal and Veloor, officials said.
Speaking to PTI, Animal Husbandry Minister J Chinchu Rani said test results from a central laboratory have confirmed the outbreak in both districts.
Cases of avian flu came to our notice about a week ago. Samples were collected and sent to a central laboratory in Bhopal, which has confirmed the outbreak, she said.
The minister said the department is currently assessing the outbreak's intensity.
She said no restrictions have been imposed on the consumption of poultry products so far.
