Neighbourhood first is an expression of priority: Foreign Secretary

Singapore, Sep 02 (ANI): Asserting that India counters toughest problems within its neighbourhood, Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar called on the need to push relations with our immediate neighbours. Citing the examples of present relations of India with Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Myanmar, he added that 'neighbourhood first is an expression of priority.' The foreign secretary further said that India will not gain credibility to work beyond if it does not harmonise with its neighbours. Jaishankar was speaking at the Indian Ocean Conference 2016 being held in Singapore.
