This was the third major weather disruption of the World Cup, following a two-hour delay at halftime of the France-Iraq group-stage match in Philadelphia on June 22.

Erling Haaland headed in the go-ahead goal in the 80th minute and scored again before the end of regulation time as Norway reached the World Cup quarter-finals for the first time with a 2-1 win over Brazil on Sunday.

 

Haaland had been quiet for much of the afternoon but came alive when it mattered most. He met a perfect delivery from Andreas Schjelderup, who had come on at halftime, to put Norway ahead. Brazil exited the tournament after failing to meet expectations placed on the five-time champions. The defeat ended their run of eight consecutive quarter-final appearances at the World Cup, with Brazil losing before that stage for the first time since 1990.
