The Indian men's team fell to a 1-3 defeat by the hands of Spain as Harmanpreet and Co. failed to register an opening win in the FIH Hockey Pro League in Bhubaneshawar. On the other hand, the women's side rescues a late 3-2 victory against England courtesy of goals from Deepika, Vaishnavi and Navneet.
For the Indian fans, it was a mixed emotion as they saw one of their teams scrap out a hard fought win while the other couldn't manage to produce the goods on the night.
However, it is still a long way to go for both the sides and the more consistent teams will be reaping the rewards in the end.
