Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Sunday inaugurated the country's third international airport, built in the backdrop of the Annapurna Mountain Range with Chinese loans and donations.The third International airport of the Himalayan nation has been inaugurated in the tourist valley as the previous airport had no proper infrastructure and also failed to provide an air route via India. The Roseate Hotels and Resorts, owned by the Bird Group, has been selected to develop the first 220-room luxury hotel near the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar, officials said on Monday. The Bird Group, which operates six properties in India and the UK, was chosen to develop this hotel after a competitive bidding process involving some of the leading international and national hospitality groups, according to an official statement by the Noida International Airport (NIA). Arunachal Pradesh is all set to script its aviation history Saturday when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the state's first airport near here. The Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) has enabled the unidirectional flow of traffic for the departures of passengers on the ground floor. This arrangement has created a seamless movement of traffic for both arrivals (lower ground floor) and departures (ground floor) on different levels, a release from MIA said here Sunday. Under the new arrangement, all vehicles coming to drop departing passengers, shall exit via the ramp after dropping them either at the designated drop off zone 1 or 2. After leaving the ramp that leads to the lower ground floor, the vehicles may exit either to the city or towards the parking lot. Till now, the airport had just one designated drop zone just prior to the departure gate from where the vehicles returned. The development work of the civil enclave project at the Kanpur Airport, including a new terminal building, at an investment of Rs 143.6 crore is expected to be completed by this year, an official release said on Thursday. Once commissioned, the new terminal building spread in 6,248 sq mt will be able to handle 300 passengers during peak hours with host facilities such as eight check-in counters, conveyor belts for the arriving passengers, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) said. Besides, the apron is being designed to park as many as three A-321 types of aircraft, it said. The airport at Kanpur, which is the commercial capital of Uttar Pradesh and a hub for leather, textiles and defence production, among others, is at present directly connected to Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Gorakhpur, AAI said.
